Why should I eat?

Why should I eat?

Humans need energy to move. The common sense answer would be that we must obtain the nutrients from which energy is derived in our diet.

This answer is not wrong, of course. However, this would mean that people who are bedridden due to illness do not need to eat.
Since no one needs to eat, even those who are bedridden and do not work need to eat. This is because cells in the body are constantly being replaced. For example, red blood cells, small red particles in the blood, die after 120 days of work. Since red blood cells play an important role in carrying oxygen to the body, they must be replaced when they die. To make new ones, of course, they need materials. These materials are taken in from outside the body as food.
The skin of the body is also constantly being replaced. Cells in the stomach and intestines are also replaced little by little. Without food, these cells cannot be replaced, and the condition of the body deteriorates. That is why we need to eat.
