Where does the spit come from and why?

Spit comes from a place in the mouth called the daechi glands. The glands are located in the mouth under the ears, on the chin, and under the tongue, and most of the spit comes from these glands.

In addition, there are many small glands on the inside of the cheeks that also produce spit. In other words, spit does not come from one place, but from various places in the mouth.
The spit has many functions. First, it moistens and softens food to make it easier to swallow. Enzymes in the brim help digest food and make it easier for the body to take in nutrients. The brim also kills bacteria on the food and keeps the mouth moist so that it does not dry out. If your mouth is dry, you will not be able to speak well.
Thus, spit has many functions.
