How many times does the earth turn or rotate in a day?

The earth rotates once a day. This makes it sound as if the earth rotates once a day, but in fact, it is more correct to say that humans later determined the time of one rotation of the earth to be one day.
The earth has always been rotating since its birth. In other words, the earth has been rotating for 4.6 billion years. After that, humans appeared on the earth and decided that the time taken for the earth to make a full revolution was one day.
Thus, time and calendars were originally created based on observations of the movements of the moon, earth, and stars.
