Why were kanji characters created and who created them?

Chinese characters were created in China about 3,500 years ago. It is said that Chinese characters are the only characters created so long ago that are still in use today. In other words, Chinese characters are the oldest characters in the world.
Now let me explain how the kanji were created. Take, for example, the kanji character for "eye. Let's look at the current character "eye" horizontally. You will notice that it somehow resembles the shape of a human eye.
Thus, it seems that kanji was originally created by changing the shape of what was originally a picture.
However, this was 3,500 years ago. It is so old that there are almost no records of kanji. Therefore, we do not know much more about it.
What is clear, however, is that one person did not create kanji at one time, as if it were some kind of invention. It was created gradually over a long period of time, and eventually everyone began to use it.
All the letters and words of all countries were created in this way. It is impossible to answer when and by whom they were created.
