National Qualification Certified Measurer

Experts in accurately representing "quantities" and "values" that are indispensable in our daily lives. Even ambiguous words such as "a lot" and "a little" become easier to understand if they are accurately weighed and expressed in numbers!

Reliable numbers are produced by metrologists.

The job of a weighing engineer is to accurately weigh the weight, volume, concentration, etc. of various objects and express the amount and size of the object in numbers and units. If no one were to do this work, then neither shopping prices such as "how many yen per kilogram" nor guidelines such as "what percentage of pollution concentration is dangerous" would be possible.
When weighing something, each field uses specialized measuring instruments. It may seem easy if you have the tools, but the task of "accurately weighing" is not so easy. The object to be weighed usually has extra substances mixed in, or the conditions change due to temperature or air pressure, so there will be errors in the figures.
The weigher must use statistical knowledge to correct such uncertainties and produce an exact value.

Do you want to become a general or environmental certified measurer?

There are three types of certified measurers: general certified measurers, environmental certified measurers (concentration), and environmental certified measurers (noise and vibration).
General certified measurers work in factories, supermarkets, and other places where accurate weight and volume values of objects are required. Environmental certified measurers (concentration) work in environmental companies and laboratories, where they measure the pollution of air and water. Environmental metrologists (noise and vibration) examine the magnitude of noise and vibration at environmental companies and laboratories.
Accurate numerical data is indispensable, whether we want to ensure the fair exchange of goods in business or investigate the actual state of pollution and noise in order to protect the environment. The creation of the "numbers" that we rely on in our daily lives is what makes the work of a certified measurer so interesting.

Let's make sure to study the areas of mathematics and science that are fundamental to metrology.
Passed the exam!
Anyone can take the national examination for any of the three types. However, to work under the name of "certified measurer," one must have work experience. Basically, you can think of it as a certification that you can obtain after you start working in the field.
Passed!
Although the qualification does not guarantee you a secure job...you should have acquired common sense as a member of society!
