The examinations are divided into domestic and overseas levels, each from Level 1 to Level 4. Levels 1 and 2 are for those who wish to become professional travelers, so elementary and junior high school students should start with the Domestic Level 4 exam.
The Domestic Level 4 exam includes questions in the three categories of "natural scenery and topographical maps of prefectures," "hot springs," and "sightseeing spots and tourist attractions. The questions focus on the names and attractions of travel destinations, and include some rather detailed points. Incidentally, "World Heritage Sites" registered with UNESCO are also included in the Overseas Level 4 examination.
Textbooks and question collections are available for each level, so check the association's website for more information. The exam includes questions on the names of difficult places, so be sure to check them carefully and memorize them.
