Manicurist" is a profession born in the United States.

A manicurist is a specialist in nail beauty and health. They are also called "manicurists" or "nail artists.

The Japan Manicurist Society, which aims to train manicurists to be internationally accepted, administers the Manicurist Skills Test, and those who pass Levels 1 or 2 will be highly regarded when working in nail salons, beauty salons, esthetic salons, etc.

There are three levels of certification: Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3. Level 3 tests basic nail care skills and knowledge, and is taken by many students and housewives who do not work in the nail care industry.
Level 2 tests the skills and knowledge of nail care, repair, tip and wrap, and art that can be used in the workplace. The Level 1 examination is not available without passing the Level 2 examination.
The history of nail care in Japan is still young, but the number of people who care about nail care and fashion is increasing. This is a job that is expected to attract a great deal of attention in the future.
