Certified soccer referee

Official soccer referees are qualified to officiate at official matches. You can get involved in soccer from a different angle and with a new perspective!
Structure of qualifications to become a referee
To serve as a referee in an official soccer match, one must be certified as an official soccer referee.
Levels 4 and 3 are administered by the prefectural governments, Level 2 by the regional soccer associations, and Level 1 and Women's Level 1 by the Japan Football Association. The professional referees for J-League and international matches are recommended by those who have acquired the Level 1 certification.
The first step, Level 4, can be taken by anyone who takes a training course. The qualifications for attending the training session are that the applicant must be at least 12 years of age and in good mental and physical health. Since this is all that is required, it can be said that the hurdle is very low and the certification is open to everyone.
Soccer spectator fans also try!
The course consists of 2.5 hours of rules, 1 hour of refereeing, 1.5 hours of practical skills, and a 30-minute paper test. If their performance and skills are recognized, they may also be selected as assistant referees for matches organized by prefectural soccer associations.
You do not need to know the detailed rules. If you are currently playing soccer or enjoy watching live soccer broadcasts, feel free to take on the challenge of becoming a Level 4 referee. By seeing the game through the eyes of a referee, your perspective on soccer will change dramatically.
