Private certification Personal Trainer, NSCA-CPT

Advisors provide individualized guidance to clients in order to promote health and wellness. This work also requires attention to lifestyle-related diseases, such as diet and lifestyle habits to maintain good health.

Professional certifications from the U.S.

In general, a trainer's job is to provide group instruction to a number of clients at the same time at a fitness club, etc., or to provide personal instruction to individual clients. This may be similar to the difference between a cram school teacher and a private tutor. The NSCA-CPT (NSCA Certified Personal Trainer) certification certifies that a person has the basic knowledge to provide personal guidance.
On the other hand, there are also many instructors who provide guidance to athletes who wish to improve their performance in sports teams and school club activities. CSCS (NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) is a certification that certifies that an athlete has the basic knowledge to provide appropriate training, diet, and physical conditioning methods to athletes.
Both certifications are accredited by the NSCA in the U.S., but the exam can be taken in Japanese in Japan.

A Never-Ending Journey of Knowledge Improvement

In order to maintain their certification, they must earn credits by participating in seminars and other activities. Specialized studies in exercise physiology, nutrition, and anatomy are also essential. One of the major characteristics of this certification is that endless study is inevitable. It is not a profession in which "I like physical exercise" is the only qualification.
Those who have a strong interest in this field should also develop the habit of persistently tackling problems. Of course, it is also important to challenge various sports and related training.
Japan is a super-aging society. There is a high demand for health and fitness among the middle-aged and elderly. The role of a good personal trainer will become even more important in the future.
